Announcement 12-13-2013

1.       ICCL elections have been finalized and the new council has been elected.  May Allah reward the out-going council for all their efforts in serving our community and may Allah give wisdom, strength and patience to the incoming council.

2.       The new council is as follows:

o   President:  Eiad Sayyad

o   Vice President:  Anis Pandor

o   General Secretary:  Zuhaib Khan

o   Finance Secretary:  Shahid Malik

o   Women’s Coordinator:  Atiya Qaadri

3.       There is a sister who is in need of assistance for cancer treatment.  Due to a lack of funds she is asking for help from the community.  If you would like assist, you may receive an email from us or you can go to our website and click on the link that will enable you to donate directly to her.  ICCL is just facilitating this request through an announcement and is not actually collecting or distributing any funds.

4.       Dar Us Salaam is holding a fundraising dinner and family night at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel on December 15, 2013 @ 4:30.  You can go online at:  www.alhuda.org to purchase your tickets.

5.       (Web) The Islamic Society of Annapolis (ISA) is sponsoring a winter clothing drive which has been extended to December 23, 2013. Please drop off new or barley used winter clothing to ICCL between now and December 23.  ISA will also need volunteers to help distribute the clothes to the needy.  If you are interested, please leave your name with the office manager.

6.       Alim courses have recommenced.  Also, new level 1 Alim classes are starting soon, for those interested in becoming new students, please contact the office manager to get more information and register.

2013-10-11 Announcements

1. Time has come to elect your new executive council. New council will take charge on Jan 1, 2014. InshaAllah. ICCL election committee has sent the nomination package by email to all members. If you are a member and have not received this package please contact our office manger and provide your email. We are asking to have all nominations back to us by October 27, 2013. Details are provide in the letter sent to you and also posted on the notice board.

2. (Web) ICCL Adheres to the established Sunnah of sighting the crescent moon in determining the beginning and end of Islamic months.  The moon was not spotted in all of North America and the neighboring countries.  As a result, the first of Thul Hijah was Monday, October 7, 2013.  We are planning two Eid Prayers to be held at ICCL on Wednesday, October 7, 2013.  The first will begin at 7:30 AM and the second will be at 9:30 AM.

3. We are looking for a maintenance coordinator to head our maintenance committee.  If you have some extra time and want to dedicate it to Allah’s house, please come forward and contact our vice president.

4. We are looking for a talented individual who is skilled in either graphics or writing.  These skills will be put to use in regards to the redesign of our website and the authoring of original content for our newsletter.  All work can be done remotely (from home).  Anyone interested should contact our general secretary at:  secretary@icclmd.org.

5. (Web) ICCL will be holding a Eid Bazaar on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 11am – 4pm.  Please come out and browse various items from a diverse group of vendors.

6. (Web) If you would like to be a sponsor for our new ICCL Calendar, please contact our vice president Bilal Vohra immediately.  The cutoff date for calendar sponsorship will be this Wednesday.

Announcements – 09-27-2013

1.       In our continuation of Quran recitation during Fajr Salah, Imam Javid is nearing the completion of Surah Yunus. Insha’Allah, we will have our community breakfast after Fajr on Sunday, September 29, 2013. Praying Fajr in the Masjid is a huge blessing by itself. Community breakfast on top of that is a bonus. Iqamah time is 6:10 a.m.

2.       We are looking for a maintenance secretary to head our maintenance committee.  This someone who will play a coordinator but can be someone who is handy as well.  This is a serious commitment to the masjid and the community.    If you have extra time and want to dedicate it to Allah’s house, please come forward and contact our vice president, Bilal Vohra.

3.       If you would like to be a sponsor for our new ICCL Calendar (which will also get you an ad on our website), please contact our vice president Bilal Vohra immediately.  The cutoff date for calendar sponsorship will be Eid Al-Ahda.

2013 Sunday School Registration

The 2013 Fall Semester Registration for ICCL’s Islamic-Sunday School classes will be on Sunday September 15, 2013. Please come at 10:30 am to register children. All Parents and students are required to & should be present for registration by 10:30 AM on that day. A $10 late charge will be added for each student for registration completed after September 15, 2013.
