Br. Tariq Masoud passed away

In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

“O Soul that rests in peace, return to your Lord contently well-pleasing unto Him. Enter among My servants and enter into My Garden” – 89:27-30)

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of brother Tariq Masoud (the brother in law of brother Muhammad Sajjad) in Southern Maryland. 

The Janaazah prayer will be held at ICCL on Sunday February 2nd 2014 at 12:20PM.

We ask Allah SWT to forgive him, have mercy on him and give him Jannat ul-Firdous.

We also ask Allah SWT to give patience to the family during this difficult time.

 1.        It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing away of the elder sister of our Brother Muhammad Sajjad.  We ask Allah (SWT) to forgive her, have mercy on her and give her Jannat-ul Firdous.  We also ask Allah to bestow patience on the family during this difficult

2.        (Web) Due to the recommendation of the ICCL BOD, the General Body meeting scheduled for Saturday, January 25th @ 11 AM has been postponed.  A new date will be communicated as soon as it is given to us.

3.        (Web) ICCL Janazah Committee has worked with major masajids in the area to negotiate a price for the grave site. The cost is $2300. We are encouraging our community to purchase a site. It can be used by them or a family member and helps offset the cost when the time comes. The payment can be lump sum or distributed evenly over a time period. If you have any questions, please direct them to our office manager

4.        The Constitution Committee has been assembled. They have been tasked to update the constitution. You can send them your comments/suggestions at:   feedback@icclmd.org

5.        Alim courses have recommenced.   For those interested in becoming new students, please contact the office manager to get more information and register

Announcement 12/20/2013

1.        (Web) The Islamic Society of Annapolis (ISA) is sponsoring a winter clothing drive which has been extended to December 23, 2013. Please drop off new or barley used winter clothing to ICCL between now and December 23.  ISA will also need volunteers to help distribute the clothes to the needy.  If you are interested, please leave your name with the office manager.

2.        For security reasons we do not allow anyone to leave their car in the parking lot overnight. The Police have advised us to become suspicious about any car left unattended for more than 6 hours. If you have to leave your car for some reason, please make sure office manager is aware of it, otherwise it may get towed at the owner’s expense.

5.        (Web) A home schoolers’ team has been created, for the first time, in Prince Georges County, under the School Name “Prince George’s County Home Schoolers” (PGCHS).   If you are interested in joining the team, please send your info to pgchs2014@gmail.com

Announcement 12-13-2013

1.       ICCL elections have been finalized and the new council has been elected.  May Allah reward the out-going council for all their efforts in serving our community and may Allah give wisdom, strength and patience to the incoming council.

2.       The new council is as follows:

3.       There is a sister who is in need of assistance for cancer treatment.  Due to a lack of funds she is asking for help from the community.  If you would like assist, you may receive an email from us or you can go to our website and click on the link that will enable you to donate directly to her.  ICCL is just facilitating this request through an announcement and is not actually collecting or distributing any funds.

4.       Dar Us Salaam is holding a fundraising dinner and family night at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel on December 15, 2013 @ 4:30.  You can go online at:  www.alhuda.org to purchase your tickets.

2013-10-11 Announcements

  1. Time has come to elect your new executive council. New council will take charge on Jan 1, 2014. InshaAllah. ICCL election committee has sent the nomination package by email to all members. If you are a member and have not received this package please contact our office manger and provide your email. We are asking to have all nominations back to us by October 27, 2013. Details are provide in the letter sent to you and also posted on the notice board.

  2. (Web) ICCL Adheres to the established Sunnah of sighting the crescent moon in determining the beginning and end of Islamic months.  The moon was not spotted in all of North America and the neighboring countries.  As a result, the first of Thul Hijah was Monday, October 7, 2013.  We are planning two Eid Prayers to be held at ICCL on Wednesday, October 7, 2013.  The first will begin at 7:30 AM and the second will be at 9:30 AM.

  3. We are looking for a maintenance coordinator to head our maintenance committee.  If you have some extra time and want to dedicate it to Allah’s house, please come forward and contact our vice president.

  4. We are looking for a talented individual who is skilled in either graphics or writing.  These skills will be put to use in regards to the redesign of our website and the authoring of original content for our newsletter.  All work can be done remotely (from home).  Anyone interested should contact our general secretary at:  secretary@icclmd.org.

  5. (Web) ICCL will be holding a Eid Bazaar on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 11am – 4pm.  Please come out and browse various items from a diverse group of vendors.
